Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Polarim, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the app. Polarim is operated by Ana Carolina Magalhães, based in Coimbra, Portugal.

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Polarim account. You need an account to use the app.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Polarim grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

• Use the app only for lawful purposes.
• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
• Do not use the app in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it or its backend services.
• Keep your account credentials confidential and maintain the security of your device and app data.
• Do not upload or share content that infringes on others' rights.

You retain all rights to the content you create in Polarim, including stamps, photos, notes, and other materials. We do not claim ownership of your content.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to any photos or content you add to the app. By adding content, you grant us only the limited, non-exclusive license needed to store, sync, and display that content back to you as part of operating the app. We do not use your content for any other purpose.

Polarim is free to use. Premium is an optional paid upgrade that unlocks extra features, offered as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the App Store or Google Play before you buy, in your local currency, and may change in the future; any price change for an active subscription follows the store's rules and notice period.

Purchases are made and billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account, not by us. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel in time: on the App Store, at least 24 hours before the current period ends; on Google Play, before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or from Settings → Manage Premium in the app. Deleting the app or your Polarim account does not cancel a subscription.

If you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. When Premium ends, your memories stay in your account, but features and limits return to those of the free plan.

Because purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play, any right of withdrawal and any refund follow the rules and procedures of the store where you made the purchase; we cannot issue refunds directly. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.

The first time you sign in, a "Before We Begin" screen explains why Polarim can use your photo library and camera. Each permission is requested only if you tap "Allow" next to it, and you can continue without allowing either; if you do, the app asks again when you open the form to add a memory. Right after that screen, the app asks for permission to send notifications, used only for the weekly reminder. You can review or change these permissions at any time in your device's system settings.

Your stamps and volumes are synced to our cloud backend so they are not lost if you switch devices, in addition to being cached locally on your device. You are still encouraged to be mindful of what you store, since no service is guaranteed against data loss.

We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, account deletion, or events outside our control.

You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or via the web-based request form on this site. This action is irreversible: once confirmed, your stamps, photos, volumes, and account record are permanently and immediately removed. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from harmful components.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence.

We may update, modify, or discontinue the app at any time. We may also modify these Terms of Service; material changes will require you to review and re-accept them before continuing to use the app. Changes are reflected by updating the "last updated" date and version at the top of this page.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live, including Brazil's LGPD or the EU/UK GDPR, where those laws apply.
